Check out what's happening this month at the Library!

National Library Week starts April 7 and in celebration, the Library will be holding Food for Fines from April 8-April 20.
As with previous food for fines, we will be accepting one nonperishable food item for $1 off late fees, fines and lost item fees. Food items will be donated to local food banks. We will also be accepting canned pet food that will be donated to the Department of Animal Services to supply their public pet food pantry.

All donations will be credited the same and cannot be used as credit for future fines.

Bonus: All replacement cards will be free during this time! Happy National Library Week!

On April 8, 2024 a Total Solar Eclipse will be viewable (partially) from our area. All St. Tammany Parish Library branches will have eclipse glasses available while supplies last starting April 1, 2024.

During an eclipse, looking directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing is never safe. Review these safety guidelines to prepare for viewing any solar eclipse.

Louisiana native and soon-to-be second-time author Teresa Tumminello Brader will discuss her first published book, "Letting In Air and Light," with an audience at the Causeway Branch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m on April 6.

Brader's book, which sheds light on her family's experience in attempting to honor the legacy of Louisiana artist Clementine Hunter, debuted on bookshelves last October. Her book was highlighted in the Deep South magazine's fall and winter reading list and was featured in the Country Roads' issue of Myths & Legends.

This event is free and open to adults in the community, but registration is required.

Our Children’s Department is holding Storytime Celebrations at branches the week of April 8.

These celebrations are a sweet, temporary goodbye to Storytime as the department starts to prepare for Children’s Summer Reading events. Storytime will return later this Fall.
