January 2025 Bookrunner

The St. Tammany Parish Library (STPL) was established in June 1950. This year, 2025, commemorates the library’s 75th year anniversary. For 75 years STPL has grown from a handful of small standalone branches to a fully connected system of 12 branches across the parish.

To celebrate this monumental milestone, STPL is holding a design contest to select our limited edition 75th Anniversary Library Card.

Design rules, deadlines and other contest information can be found on the library's website or at your local branch until March 8, 2025.

The St. Tammany Parish Library now offers Adventure Academy for patrons. Adventure Academy (ages 8-13) features thousands of enjoyable educational learning activities, such as videos, reading experiences, games, quizzes, and many other interactive elements—all within the frameworks of U.S. (and international) curriculum standards.

Adventure Academy's curriculum highlights reading comprehension skills, vocabulary development, mathematical operations, fractions, world geography, U.S. history, physical science, life science, Earth science, and scientific inquiry.

Through access with a library card, patrons get continuous and unlimited remote access to the same full version that consumers routinely subscribe to. Several children in the same household can each have their own avatar, profile, preferences, and progress tracking.
