Second Saturday Special Sales are themed sales featuring specially selected books in excellent condition. The contents of this sale will include over a hundred specially selected pre-owned books related to Louisiana and the South. Topics will include gardening in our climate, history, culture, cookbooks/cuisine, large format books, fiction by Louisiana authors, etc.
Sale items will have standard prices ranging from $1 to $3 each.
Cash and checks are accepted for all purchases.
The Friends of the Slidell Library also hold a silent auction each month. Auction items are on display at the Slidell Branch during bidding dates. Bids can be placed at the Slidell Branch circulation desk. Each item has a minimum bid and all subsequent bids require a minimum $1 bid increment advance. High bidders will be notified by telephone or email and must pick up items within 7 days or the item will default to the next highest bidder. August's auction will take last bids on Civil War materials on September 4th at 6 p.m. Coffee Table (Large Format) Books will be the auction subject for September 5th - October 2nd.
The Friends of the Slidell Library, an all-volunteer non-profit organization founded in 1976, raises funds using used book sales and silent auctions to help support the Slidell, Pearl River, South Slidell, and Lacombe libraries.
